Travels in California

Yes, you know Gilroy as the home of the Garlic Festival. And sadly, I've not yet been. I'll be sure to check into it next year, however.

I made my first official visit to Gilroy last week to the lovely Gilroy Gardens.

My friends and I arrived on a Sunday at around 9:45am. Perfect timing. The crowds didn't show up until after 11. This gives you a chance to visit your favorite part of the park with little crowds. Keep in mind that the food isn't served until after 11am, either, so if you're hungry, you'll have a bit of a wait.

I highly recommend making a visit. There are medium to light amusement park type rides (trains, cars, rafts, coasters), plus a fun waterfall garden perfect for cooling off. It can be educational and fun for the whole family or friendship circle.

Some friends of mine also stayed at the Ramada Limited Inn down there the night before, and it appears to be a reasonably comfortable accomodation.
